Hi
I recently got some Beolab 3500's.....nice looking speakers but it seems to me that they produce very little bass, much less then the Beolab 6000's even. Is that what everyone else has experienced?
You are correct, i've got one in my kitchen, I do have the bass turned up on the unit, still not good.
The wife thinks it sounds great, but i'm used to the bass from my Lab5's.
I haven't heard the Beolab 6000, but a pair of Beolab 4000 sound alot better the the 3500.

Thats quite disappointing to be honest as i just bought 4 of them :( I didn't expect thumping bass but expected them to be like the Beolab 6000's

The stated lower frequency ranges for both the 3500 and 6000 are almost identical (56 and 55 Hz). If installing in a smaller room the bass wavelengths will be truncated and lost by wall reflections.

I have the 3500 in the same room as the 6000's...connected them all to a Beosound 3000. Unless its because I have the 3500 connected using a ML cable? I have tried all 4 3500's and they all sound the same even with the bass turned on full....marked difference compared to the 6000's
There is a way of changing the bass level in the service menu - the service manual on line should help - I tried this once as I thought both bass and treble seemed quite muffled - also they do sound better actually on the wall quite high up pointing down. I am using one in my kitchen, but have to admit the sound was much better with an old pair of S-45s and a beolink passive - didn't look quite as nice though!
