Hi folks,
I hope I have the right sub forum, first post!
i have a beocenter 9300 currently with a good pair of beovox 50s. I like them but I would like better. I work as a sound designer and audio director for games and films so I love good audio gear and I'm happy to spend money on worthwhile gear :)
My questions are, do the beolab 5000 speakers hold up today compared to modern speakers of the same price? I appreciate that they visually match the 9300 and the b&b deck I have. Would I get better sound from the 6000 or the 8000 speakers? Having a 9300 should I avoid any particular speakers?
My speaker budget is realistically £1250, although I could be persuaded to go higher. My room is an average sized living room with plenty of furnishings that dampen reflections enough while being a functional living room.
Any advice appreciated.
Hi.
I have a pair of Beolab 8000 mk2 with my Beocenter 9300. Great sounding and fantastic looking. A later pair of mk2 BL8000 will be well within your budget. If you are prepared to stretch even further then a pair of BL9 would be recommended.
I would try to stick to Beolabs if possible, the passive amp in the BC9300 is fairly good but not its greatest strength.
Graeme.
