Oppo has a history of making players that not only are far more rugged and durable and well built than most mass market units, each player has had about as perfect a performance as possible out of the media, from DVD to Blue Ray. They make the highest performance players out there. Whether or not you can see the difference on a particular TV set may be open to question, but if you want the best you can get Oppo tends to be it. My Oppo BDP-103 is built like a tank compared to the mostly plastic players made by other makers.
