Wonder if anyone can help ?
I currently have a Beovision 7-55 connected with a Sky+ HD box.
All functionalities of the Sky+ box (view, playback, record, planner, programme guide, etc, etc) can all be accessed by the BEO4 remote (with the 'navi' button). No problem.
I can also access the Sky+ box from my recently-installed link TV (a Beovision 7-32, which sits in another room, connected via Masterlink and RF cables to the Beo 7-55).
However, I can only access very basic functionalities of the Sky+ box via this link TV - such as switch on, view and change channels - I cannot seem to be able to activate the planner (to view material to playback) or to access the detailed programme guide, or to activate the record function, even using a BEO4 controller with the 'navi' button.
Would anyone have an idea as to what the issue might be ? And, if so, would there be an easy solution (such as a set-up sequence in the Beo 7-55 menu) ?
(As an aside, I used to have a Beovision 3-32 CRT plus a Beovision 1 CRT as a link TV and these both worked perfectly in terms of accessing the Sky+ box functions with the BEO4 controller).
Thanks in advance for any help given !
Hi and welcome.
How is the box connected to the tv?
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Hello Peter A,
which type of Sky+ Box is connected to the BV 7-55 ? Is it PUC - controlled and added into the list of receivers by your B&O dealer ?
Regards, julefreund
Hello There,
The Sky+ HD box is connected to the Beo 7-55 via HDMI and SCART - hope this info helps.
Peter
Indeed, it's a Sky+HD box manufactured by Amstrad (I believe) and was installed and added-in by the B&O engineer.
I will check the list of Sat boxes in the Beo 7-55 set-up menu - which I haven't done yet.
I do get full functionality with the BEO4 via the 7-55. but it's strange there's limited functionality via the Beo 7-32 link TV.
Thanks,
hi correct puc to connect to is Thompson hd and it received an update in the last two weeks
Amstrad is now owned by sky tv

Sounds like it`s a navigation button issue. To verify this, set your BV7-55 to "Beo4 no navigation button" (you will find it in the menu...)
Set your Beo4 to MODE 2 (No navigation button). Now both BVs should respond to the same commands (and your stb too).
Explanation: BV7-32 can not detect certain commands of the "new" Beo4 navi (1710?). So some commands like navi up/down, left/right, enter...
can`t be sent through your link TV to your BV7-55. If you set your BV7-55 to no navigation button it should be fully compatible to BV7-32.
Your BV3-32 worked the same way as your BV7-32, and that`s why they "understood" each other perfectly.
If you have problems with functions like MENU 1....9 on your main BV, try SHIFT 1....9 instead on your link BV to get the same functions.
Hope this helps
Stefan
Hi Malcolm,
The Sky+ I have box is indicated as manufactured by Sky, which is in the PUC list on the 7-55 - so all is set-up and working now, thanks.
The B&O engineer here, for some reason, had set the PUC to 'unidentified box' when he set-up the 7-55.
Hi Stefan,
I've had a certain amount of success with this, after disabling the 'navi' button the BV 7-55, but doing so I cannot use the BEO4 with the navi button which came with the BV 7-55 , but have to revert to an older BEO4 remote (without the navi button) ...
I haven't had a chance to fully test all the functions of the older BEO4 remote with the BV 7-55 yet, but when I get some time to myself, I will. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks for the help.
As described above set your Beo4 navi to MODE 2 (see Beo4 manual). Now the new Beo4 will work like an "old" Beo4 without navigation button.
Or replace your link BV with a BV10-32. This will work with new Beo4 navi on both BVs.
