Hi Beoworldonians,
I'm looking for some help with my Beolink 7000. I've already had great success getting the BG7000 working well and should have the Beocord working as soon as I get the bands delivered to me again all through the great help I've received here.
What I need to do now is get my Beolink 7000 back in shape and my first issue is the front glass panel is coming away from it's clear plastic mounting which holds the square nuts. For some reason the glue in one corner has failed and the plastic is detached from the glass in that corner. What I'd like to do is glue it all back together again but I have no idea what glue was used in the first place and whether superglue is the right way to go or whether someone here can recommend something better.
Once that's done I'll replace the battery pack (already tested externally - works well) and try to manufacture a new mounting plate/bracket for the desktop charger along with some more sturdy contacts. The old one seems to have melted probably due to the last owner installing the wrong kind of batteries in the unit and this in turn has made a mess of the contacts. Again if anyone has any experience on what works well and what not to do, I'd be very grateful.
Cheers
Peter

Since no one has replied, the only advice I can give you is that super glue may not be the best idea here if nothing else just because of its tendency to be very apparent wherever you use it.
Thank you for answering. I was beginning to lose hope. Would be great if anyone could recommend some o ther glue that could/should be used.
I would not use superglue as it would be a big mess after a while, you would ruin the back of the glass.
Either use 2 component epoxy or the black glue that is used by car work shops to mount windshields (innotec adheseal for example, you need just a little, it holds up to 25 kilos per square cm).
Good Luck!
Fantastic! Thanks for your help. The black glue sounds like a winner - just need to find a supplier now :)
Thanks again.
Hi
Can you reply whether that black glue was a succes?
I am thinking of getting a new glass and replace the old one.
On mine the glass has loosened in the top half, and still attached in the lower half. Can I just detach rthe glass without destroying the remote itself?
Regards Ib
