I have an Essence MKII connected to my Beosound 5 through a Behringer device and to my V1 wirelessly.
When I select an Essence source to play through the V1, the sound is at an appropriate level. And I just use the Beo 4 for volume adjustment.
When I select an Essence source on my Masterlink system, the volume is very low and I need to turn it up using the volume control on the app before it is loud enough to use the Beo 4.
Is there a setting that I am missing that would solve this problem?
In the alternative, would connection through a netlink converter instead of the Behringer solve the problem?

Hi Razlaw
Have you had a look at the Essense set up;
maybe you could enable line out level in the sound section? This would give a fiexed level out ?
Try connecting to the line level of the ML/NL converter if you could, as the Behringer sound is just shockingly bad!!
Or you could try wiring the Besound 5 into the line in of the essense then your V1 and the Essense would work well together on the BeoMusic app?
let us know how you get on.
With the Essence there is a setting under 'Sound', where you should activate, that you have the PL-out of the Essence connected to a music system.
This should give you a linelevel output from the Essence - works fine with my Essence box and the ML.
Maybe the sensitivety of the Behringer input port is too low?
If you have the converter in your setup, please - as StUrrock notes - consider using the line input of that instead.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
If you know the ip address of the essense log in with a web browser on that IP address and it is on the left hand side menu.
otherwise use the beosetup app?

Wait untill the Essence is found and pick the 'Sound' setting there.
I had mixed results changing the settings. In the Beosetup app, under sound, selecting the line option resulted in a message saying to connect music device to the Powerlink sockets.
There were, however, two settings, one to set maximum sound level and one to set default sound level. I thought that was the solution. But, this is what happened. If the knob on the behriger with a graphic that looks like a volume control is turned to the minimum setting, changing the settings in the app has no effect. If I turn the knob on the Behringer to the maximum setting, then the default levels set in the app do work, and the default volume is as I would like it. However, the sound is horrible.
So, I am back to using both volume controls, the app and the Beo 4 to get the volume I want.
Maybe I should invest in a NL/ML converter and see how the system works with it.
