hi all,
3 months ago i purchased a second hand Beo6 remote (for a bargain £30!) since then it has worked perfectly but yesterday has developed a problem....
The bottom row of icons/labels on the touch screen have stopped responding - everything else seems fine? i wondered if anyone else has ever had this problem. i did a search but could not find anything.
any idea if this can be resolved? I guess i could change the layout using the beo5/6 software to move the labels around but perhaps there is a simple reboot procedure or something i've missed that could sort things.

Have you tried to power it of by holding the OK button down until "powering off" is shown ? Then turn it back on with the OK button again ?
Have you tried du download the configuration again ?

Hi Weebyx,
I've tried powering off by holding the button but this doesn't seem to resolve.
I will dig out my old windows XP laptop with the config tool and try reloading the software and config to see if that helps.
Hi again,
i managed to load up the software and re-download the confirguration to the remote again.
unfortunately the bottom row of the screen is still not functioning.
as a work around i have moved all of those icons up a row - this at least allows for the functionality but it doesn't look as aesthetically pleasing so if anyone else has any other ideas i would be very interested to hear!
i wondered if it was a fault with the touch screen itself but thought it would be odd to just affect 1 row?
Hi
You can access the service menu to do a touch screen test.
Firstly go to the set up menu by pressing STAND BY + CENTRE.
Then press the + icon to bring up the numeric screen. The code to access the service screen is: ZERO ZERO CENTRE.
Having said all that, if the bottom section of the screen is faulty, you won't be able to get to the service menu which in a round about way confirms the screen is faulty.
Sorry I can offer any other suggestions other than to replace the Beo 6.
Opman
Hi Opman,
thanks for your reply - i tried as you mentioned and yep, can't enter the zero's into the numeric screen so looks like it is a confirmed faulty screen.
(incidentally the 2nd row of icons is no longer working either now so just the top row)
very disappointing, i don't suppose it is worth repairing.
