Hi all!
For the last year I have had a setup with BL8000s connected to a Playmaker and from there a Line cable with an optical adapter to plug into my Home Theater PC. Works like a charm and I am very happy with it.
Now, I have the chance of coming into a BL7.2 which I just love.
So my question is:
How do I set up the BL8000s together with the BL7.2?
I have long thought of getting a Beosystem 3 (the dreams is to get a surround system one day with BL3) but its a lot of money to spend for the new setup.
What are my options?
- Can I somehow daisychain the BL8000 and use the other input in the Playmaker for the BL7.2? Will that work?
All feedback and suggestions much appreciated :)
Hi pointplace,
Welcome to Beoworld!
You can add more speakers to the PlayMaker, as long as you don't mind them all playing at the same time in stereo (ie. they won't give you full surround sound, as the PlayMaker only produces left and right audio channels).
You can daisy chain the Beolab 8000s using this splitter at the nearest 8000: http://soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/26-powerlink-compatible-splitter-doubler-2-fully-wired-powerlink-compatible-sockets.html
This cable will then link the two 8000 speakers together: http://soundsheavenly.com/powerlink-8-pin-din-connection/20-powerlink-mk-3-compatible-8-pin-din-cable-with-4-cores-wired-low-profile-cable.html
The cable you used previously for the other 8000 is now free for connecting the Beolab 7-2, or you can change it to a longer one if required: http://soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/31-rj45-to-powerlink-compatible-all-in-one-cable-convert-new-2013-ethernet-powerlink-to-traditional-8-pin-din-powerlink.html
Kind regards, Steve.

hi Steve,
Thanks so much for the fast and clear answer! This is definitely what I will do to start off, and then save up for the beosystem 3 and Beolab 3 for rear sound.
Have a great weekend!
