I've been asked to sell a number of classic B&O items on behalf of a friend - a Beocenter 9300 Type 2517 (purchase date 02/11/1996)  a Beocord 1500 cassette player (31/03/1982), a pair of Beovox S45-2 speakers (we think bought at the same time as the 9300), and a wooden unit that also seems to have been supplied with the Beocenter - not sure about this as there's no B&O reference on it. There are also original instruction manuals and purchase documentation for the Beocenter and the Beocord, plus a manual for a Beosystem 9500. There's no turntable though.

Everything looks pretty much flawless - it's hardly been used over the years and has been very much looked after, and it all seems to works well except for the CD player, which only sometimes recognises CDs (seems to be a known issue).

Question is - am I better off selling to a specialist who will service/refurbish and sell on; pay for the items to be serviced/refurbished and sell on myself (or keep?), or sell it 'as is'? Is it best to sell the items separately?

I'd really appreciate any advice - I'm new to this(!), and if anyone's interested in buying them, please let me know.

I live in West Yorkshire.

Hi there - and welcome to BeoWorld!

A flawless but not fully functional 9300 still has a value. You should get circa £150-200 for it on a good day from someone who can repair it.

The BeoCords, sadly, are pretty much worthless.

The S45.2's shouldn't have foam rot - but pop the fronts off and have a look anyway. If the cabinets are clean and tidy, and the drivers are good, say £50-75.

If you decide to sell, and can't find a buyer after a while, please drop me a line. I'd be interested in saving the 9300 at least - they need preserving!
