I am trying to use my old MCP5500 with my Playmaker. It doesn't work.
Is there any way to set it to one-way only? The Beo4 works, and I was under the impression that the MCP5500 sends Beolink 1000 commands, so it should have worked.
Or or did I just waste a whopping 7€ on batteries?
"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
Some of the simpler commands - such as source, standby, vol-, vol+, perhaps digits - are Beolink 1000 compatible so it should work to some extent. The problem with the MCP is that it always expects to receive a two-way reply before allowing another command. If it doesn't arrive, you will need to wait for the command to timeout with NO CONTACT, and there's no way to turn this behaviour off.
If the Playmaker doesn't respond at all, then perhaps there's some other issue I'm not aware of.
