Hello new guy here,
My father in law just sent me the tracking number for a Beogram RX2 he found in his closet.
he still had the box and an unopened MMC5 cartridge. he says he set it up and never even bothered to put the cartridge on the tone arm so this one has only ever looked pretty on a shelf.
BUT he did not remove the platter or lock the suspension when he boxed it up all he did was place a block of foam snugly between the platter and cover. so is this going to kill the suspension system in this player? it has never even been used so I would hate for it to be totally shot upon arrival.
this is the first turntable i will have ever owned myself, so i wont really know if something is wrong. if it does arrive busted I would greatly appreciate a guiding hand through the repairs. and tips on what to look for on arrival.
also any info or shared experiences on this you could provide will be very helpful
If the arm is in one piece when it arrives, the rest should be fine! I wish you luck!
Peter
thank you for the reassurance, it should be delivered tomorrow and i will know for sure then. i just hope ups was gentle this time
it arrived here at work today and the suspension was still locked, I don't think he ever plugged it in
thanks peter for the reassurance, everything turned out great.
