Happy summer to all!

I have recently acquired a nice second hand BV6-26 mkII (with HDMI sockets) and had my dealer install PUC codes for Apple TV remote. At first it worked fine but stopped the following day. Then I could get it to work again (play around in the menu) but it would then not work the next time I turned the tv on.

Now it doesn't work at all

My type number is: 9292.

Are these PUC systems in the BV6 know to go bad? Can I replace it (thinking of a cheap part on eBay) or is it built into the main board?

What I have done so far to locate the issue:

1) tried both IR sockets of the tv to no avail.

2) With a multimeter tool checked out the pic cable and diode and this was fine. This was also confirmed to be working when I connected it to my Lintronic device.

3) While tv unplugged from mains, I cleaned the 3.5mm female jacks with isopropyl alcohol (gentle, only a moist dental cleaner).

4) Apple TV has been reset, remote unpaired to no avail. I have also tried to learn the Apple TV ir codes from PUC (and even tried other PUC stored in the TV) to no avail.

5) BV6 was also reset via service menu (so that it would show the first time setup guide as when it was new) but this did not help either.

I have now ordered some 3.5mm stereo jack plugs and led diodes with visible light. I plan to connect these to the two ir ports (that can both hands two devices each) and see if I will get any lights flashing and try to make a note of when it is operational and when it is not.

I am kind of desperate here, part of the reason I got one of these TV sets was to be able to control my Apple TV with the Beo4 and unfortunately original service center repair and diagnostic service will cost so much that there is hardly any point for this old television.

So, any help advice experience or anything else would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance, BeoMedia

I have a similar problem with a BV6-26 (don't remember how to get the version). I use the 2 IR sockets to control 2 decoders, one BRD player and the Gefen HDMI switch. At the beginning everything worked fine, suddently one decoder could no longer be controlled, then the second decoder ceased to be controlled. Sometimes when I did a mains reset, it worked again, but only for some time, and today it's impossible to control the 2 decoders anymore, while the control of the Gefen and BRD player is OK.

A technician came, checked the PUC setup, the IR cables etc. Both IR sockets are sending a signal out, but for some unknown reason, the decoders can no longer be controlled via the BO remote.

My dealer is puzzled and has no acceptable solution to propose. He hypothesized that the signal coming out of the IR socket is too weak to control all the apparatus, especially when the IR cable is long, which is the case here (about 15 m).

I'm quite upset...
