Hi
My Beocom 6000 MK1 does not register to the PSTN Base MK1 anymore. I have been the owner from new.
I have two handsets and they have always been registered to the same PSTN base. The error occurs in the registration process to the PSTN base, it finds the base and then asks for a pin code??? which it has never asked for before and I have never set one. I have tried the default '0000' with no luck, ERROR is the message it displays and NOT REGISTERED. My other handset just flys through the reg process with no pin requests and just asks for a name for the handset, I have rest both the base and both handsets several times and the same happens each time, the following resets have been used:
- Resetting the Base Station & both Handsets using;
DOT 7009 & DOT 7008.
I have can also checked the registered handset to see if the 6 max has been reached on the BS for HS's but all it shows is one handset registered, which is the 1 the goes through with no issues. Please can someone help?
Hi there and welcome to Beoworld!
As it's a Mk 1 there could well be a problem with the RF chip - this was quite a common fault and can only be resolved by replacing the motherboard. B&O sell a new motherboard kit that includes a few other parts (new keyboard etc) that effectively makes the phone a Mk 2. I think that the kit retails for about £70.
I hope this helps - search the old forum and you may find out more.
Hi, had the same problem, but found the solution in an very old manual.
Switch off the handset, bring the base station into pairing mode, and put the handset into the charching station.
Then the handset will switch on and start searching for the base (and pair after a while without the question for the pin). I did all the initial configuration (naming & time) with the handset in the charging station.
many B&O since 20 years...
