Hello Beoworld. I'm a new member. I recently acquired a used Beocenter 7000 in really great cosmetic condition. It came with S75 Beovox speakers, the remote control and a bunch of other useful stuff, it was a great deal but unfortunately, the cassette deck doesn't work properly. It turns on but when you press TAPE the tape head clunks into the cavity in the cassette and then releases itself again and doesn't play the cassette. Also, I tried an external reel to reel tape deck in the TAPE AUX socket and only got sound in the right speaker fully. The left had a very, very low amount of volume. According to a Google search, this loss of audio in one speaker when using the TAPE functions is a common problem with the early Beocenters.
I am enjoying using the turntable though, it works fine, and sounds great too.
So my question is, is there anybody out there in the UK, more conveniently, in the West Midlands of the UK who can repair Beocenters? I will gladly pay (of course) to have my Beocenter's TAPE functions restored. Someone who could come out to my home to fix it would be preferred.
I really like this unit. I'm planning on getting a couple more speakers for it, or at least rearranging my other current speakers and using them with my Beocenter so I'll have four hooked up to it.
Thanks!
