I have just purchased a beovision 1 TV but with no remote control. Is there another remote that I could use? Also is e bay the only place I might be able to find one? Does anyone know any other sites advertise b&o for sale?

I think you'll need either the beo 1 or beo 4 remote controls.

Lifestyle AV advertised above has some beo 1 remotes for £95 http://www.lifestyle-av.co.uk/details.asp?sectionId=4&productId=1570

If your looking for an alternative brand that works then there are some difficulties, most learning remote controls will not work with with B&O equipment due to the different frequencies used but there are exceptions (from experience with a Sony RM-VZ950T and a Beosound 1 you might find it gives limited functionality though).

Hope this helps.

Hi Aaron, the Beo4 remote is one of the best items that B&O produces and i wouldn't recommend getting a different make even if it is compatible. Try looking on some popular auction websites too.

The Beovision 1 is a great looking TV isn't itYes - thumbs up

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

I bought a Beo 1 on eBay for about £20 so keep looking as they appear a couple of times a month at far less than £95.

The functionality is very limited, hence if I were you I would get a Beo4 - I would think you are likely to expand your collection so it's pretty future proof.  There's 3 Beo4s for sale now from another member here:

The first time I used this Forum I said I was starting to get a bit addicted to B&O. Since then I have replaced my speakers with redline 60.2 s still looking for a cd 50 to go with my amp. And now I just got the TV for £30 I can't believe for that money I can buy something so stylish, great and modern looking. Thanks for your help I will keep looking.

Guys correct. Being a bloke it won't be long before your shoe horning some Beolab 5's and a Beovision 7-55 into your flat etc

The Beo4 gives you much more long term flexibility.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

Early BV1's and BC1's work with the Beo 1. Later BV1's really need a Beo4. The Beo1 can, in theory, be re-programmed to operate a later BV1, but this is not always successful. (Search the archive for further info.)

It won't!

You seem to be suffering from the initial stages of the 'Beovirus'. Beware - there is no known cure.

You might be able to use a universal remote. I tried an old Marmitek 8in1 remote.and it worked somewhat using code 199.

At least power on and volume works.

(it know it is an old question, but someone might search this forum(.
