Hi,

I've make a comparison on my Beogram 4002 between the SP15 (1974) and the MMC20CL (1986). Both stylus are in great condition and comes with box, tools and papers.

The SP15 plays really good for such an old cartridge. It is much brighter and in my opinion harsher than the MMC20CL and definitly louder! Some notes sound a bit strange with the SP15, maybe it need more miles on vinyl ;-). Normally i use the 20CL and i don't know how many hours the SP15 are played before. It looks NOS! The MMC20CL sounds very smooth, relaxing and with a big soundstage. This are my first impression of both cartridges.

Later i've checked the testcertificates. And my ears are right! The frequency of the MMC20CL is very linear on 28dB from 20Hz to 20000Hz. The SP15 plays between 34 and 36dB.

Are there any other Beoworlders with the same experience?

Cheers!
