Hi

I am thinking of using buying a Beomaster 6000/8000 and wondered if anyone had experience of controlling it with a Beo4 and Lintronic code converter (I have an old one) if that works then the next step would be to makeup a lead (or rather ask Steve if he can) to send the line output (from tape2 or 1) to a beolink converter and also the IR/Command/Beolink signals to the intronic box - this integrating it into Multiroom

Any thoughts or experience most welcome - I know there was once a kit but this is a long shot getting one and doesn't sound like it would do everything I want.

Hi,

Yes, I have successfully controlled a BM8000 through a Lintronic TT455-RT-238 HW 5.1. I initially had some problems getting it working, but I got it sorted out after an email to Michael Lindgaard from Lintronic. He sent me a special FW, which I bootloaded, and then it worked as intended. I still have the FW, so I can send it to you, if you have the same problems. It had something to do with getting the converter to recognize the signals from the Terminal and convert them to the correct format.

Operation though the Lintronic box is pretty much as if you were using the original BeoMaster/ Beolab Terminal - it's just a tad slower. This also means, that you can't adjust the volume as usual by just holding the volume button if I remember correctly. But apart from that, it's so much nicer to be able to control it with a Beo4 / BeoLink 1000.

Hi dennis - great thank you, brilliant news - do you know if the commands are uploaded to the database as I could just use them - what's an FW?

FW = Firmware

Unfortunately I can' get the configurator to work at the moment, and I can't remember if the one named MUSICCENTER; BEOMASTER 8000 in the command list is the correct one, but I think it is - looks correct, and is says, that a different firmware is needed for 760 codes - I have the FW that allows you to use 760 codes. But every time I try to open a port is writes 'Port x NOT open', so I can't test it at the moment.
