Hi
ive recently bought an 8002, apparently fully working when the guy shipped it across to me but it arrived a few days ago with a metal place hanging out underneath the arm onto where the turntable is and it won't seem to switch on.
im in the process of trying to get the eBay side of things sorted but does anyone know of a decent place where I could get this repaired?
Welcome to Beoworld,
sorry to hear that yet another Beogram has not been shipped properly. A photo of what has happened would help as this may be an easy fix or terminal depending on what it is damaged/loose.
You may be able to fix it yourself if we know what's actually wrong with it and can help point you in the right direction. Where did it ship from and where are you? Without knowing which county you're in, it's difficult to say where a good repair person is.
Dave.
This does seem to a particularly perilous problem and is one of the dangers of shipping these delicate units. When purchasing one from eBay I try and contact the seller before hand and explain how to pack it. It may seem trivial and annoying but they do usually listen!
As Dave mentioned, photos would be useful!

This is unfortunately quite true. Take your money and ship it out without a care. I also send sellers a comprehensive list of do's and don'ts for packing TT's and if it arrives damaged, they have no excuse, it goes back and I claim a full refund. Lots of info on Beoworld about shipping/packing TT's.
