Hi all,
My girlfriend and I recently inherited a Beogram 1202, a Beomaster 3000 and Beovox 3702 speakers. None of it had been used in years and after giving it all the once over it was only the speakers that needed attention.
Both woofers needed reforming which I researched and bought parts for. One woofer reformed easily and once back in the cabinet sounds fantastic BUT the other did not to do easily. I noticed the spider was quite saggy in places and the voice coil did not shim easily (I realise now I probably shouldn't have continued at this point!) but i continued with the refoaming anyway only to discover it sounds like crap now it's back in the cabinet. The voice coil rubs really badly and is not suspended properly due to the spider.
I really want this restored correctly after hearing its partner but what would the advice be on getting it done? Is rebuilding the spider a job I could do myself or should I get a professional involved? And if I so, will it be an expensive job?
Thanks in advance and thanks to all here for helping me with my (partly successful) refoam job.
Rhys
