Recently I re-installed my Beocenter 2 which had been unplugged for about 2 years. Everything functions normally but when I raise or lower the volume there is a popping sound in the left speaker. The popping noise sometimes happens in both speakers at the same time. I am using Beolab 9s which are connected by a single cable from the Beocenter 2 to the right speaker and then from the right speaker daisy chained to the left speaker.
I looked in the past threads but couldn't find an answer. I checked everything including changing the cables, shutting everything down and waiting before starting again. AlsoI bought a new Beo4. Previously these Beolab 9s were connected to a Beosystem 7000 which was no problem. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Linder, does the popping happen at every "Step" of the volume increase or decrease, or just once at the initial volume press (up or down). I haven't experienced it but figured maybe more detail might help those in the know here.

Hi Sal. The popping does happen at every step of the volume increase and decrease usually on the left speaker. Thanks
The popping sound on my Beolab 9s is gone. Apparently my phono preamp that I have for a Beogram 8002 was defective. I replaced it and now there are no problems. In fact I have been listening to the Beogram for almost a day. I didn't realize I liked LPs that much. In the past, I only listened occasionally.
