Was there a standard B & O extension speaker available for this radio. I have never seen one?
First post!
Thanks

Hi Simon
I'm rather saddened that as a first time poster nobody replied to your post. I'm not a regular poster myself as I only visit the site on an infrequent basis. Anyway, welcome to the site and I hope we haven't lost you!
in answer to your question, no, I'm fairly certain there wasn't such an item ever sold. I remember 40 or so years ago as a kid making one myself from a car stereo speaker as my Dad wouldn't let me take his Beolit 700 into the bathroom! The very small wooden cabinet I made was a woodwork project at school. Happy days...
Still have a Beolit 600 myself which I will be selling shortly as I never use it now. The advent of good quality Bluetooth speakers (especially good quality waterproof ones that you can take in the shower with you) have rendered it redundant.
Cheers
Nigel
You can use any of the smaller Beovox speakers - the output is about 1.2W maximum which is fine especially if using the mains power lead and a 4 ohm external speaker. The interesting Beolit was the 1000 which had a 7.5 W output when used with the power supply - I think the 707 has the feature where you can use either both the internal and external speaker or just the external byy changing the orientation of the 2 pin din plug as there are three pin holes. The 1000 was designed so it could be used as a car radio.
