Hello,
i have a BeoCom 6000 with analog Interface. The Phone works for few years very good. Early in this Year it starts to get a cracking noise. This only happend sometimes so searching the failure was not manageable.
Then before 3 month it starts to loose the base sometimes ("no signal"). The problem happens from time to time numerous till it stops completely to work. First i thought the base have too old Caps. So i replaced the three electrolythic Caps on the Base PCB. Then the phone connects again and i thought everything is fine...
The cracking noise seems to be a cable break and i shorten the cord with a new connector. The calls sounds clear like on the first day! :)
The next day the phone have again "no signal". I put everything in a box, carry it on my workbench and there it works shortly. Now i tried to restart the base - then the Handheld and then both... nothing works for me.
Is this in the so often called "RF Chip Problem"? How can i analyze if it's the Base or the Phone? I have many measurement equipment here. Debug in the RF Way is not so easy because i have only a simple spectrum analyzer - no digital reciver.
Can i Measure if the RF Chip is dead while measure the Current drawn from battery?
Thank you
