hello, everyone. I have recently completed my collecting of different pieces to successfully build my first B&O system consisting of a Beomaster 1900, Beocord 1900, Beogram 2400, and a Beogram CDX. The speakers I have are Beovox S45-2 bookcase models which already have wires, but the plugs need to be connected in order for me to wire it to the Beomaster. Would anyone be able to give me a step by step guide on how to do this? I've never attempted this before and I want to make sure I don't do it incorrectly. Thank you all for your help!
Hi, sounds like you have a nice system there. Yes as you say you will require some 2 pin DIN connectors like these. The positive wire goes to the small round pin and the negative to the large flat pin.
If your s45-2's are like my older beovox speakers the original grey wiring has no markings to show polarity. To determine CORRECT polarity take a 1.5v battery and briefly touch speaker wires to both ends of battery, if polarity is correct woofers will move OUT when doing so. Hope this helps you out.
You can purchase the DIN connectors with either solder style pins or with screw fittings, whatever is easier for you.
