Hi,

i have a B&O Beomaster 5000 and an RX2 turntable hooked up to it.

i am plugging in my headphones and the sound is coming through loud and clear, but the speakers aren't muting, kinda makes plugging the headphones in useless!

The manual states that it should mute automatically when the headphones are plugged in...am I missing something stupid? (Highly possible!) or is it a fault?

everything else about the system s perfect.

cheers

The mapping of the connection markings and the actual connectors in the back of the Beomaster 5000 (2321 Type) were also confusing to me. The problem you are having is because you (most likely) have your speakers connected to the Speaker 2 jacks instead of the Speaker 1 jacks at the rear of the Beomaster. The control panel Muting and the headphone jack muting functions only work on the Speaker 1 jacks.

I thought that might have something to do with it! I'll have a bit of a fiddle tomorrow.

thanks for the reply

Hi! I think the speaker jack and the headphone connector which is you connecting is not fitting properly that's why this problem occurs. This similar thing happens to me about this so I have replaced my old headphones with the new one. You can also consult technician for the solution.
