Hi all,
I have more and more issues finding my products on my network.
I have :
-A beosound Essence MKII wired to my router
-2x Beoplay A6 wirelessly connected.
The beomusic app and the beosetup apps have more and more problems finding my B&O components on the system. A few firmwares ago it was with my android devices but it was more or less OK with my IOS devices. Now, with the last firmware, it seems to be the same all the time and I need to reboot several times to find them.
Sometime, I see them in the Beomusic app, but I can'tbrowse and choose a source with some of them.
The router is an Asus Rt-AC88U.
When something is finally playing, like TunIn, I have no more issues on the device.
Does any of you experience the same issues ? Is it linked to the router or really an issue with the last firmwares ?
Really waiting your feedbacks.
Christophe.

Hi.
I just have 1 access point, dual band. All b&o equipment is connected on the 2.4ghz when using WiFi a6's) and the essence is wired.
Signal is really good in every place where the speakers are.
All the computers are connected on the 5ghz network and iPads/phones are on same network (2.4 GHz)

I was asking as I'm facing the issue from time to time when my iPhone is connected to a distant WiFi access point, looks like the BeoApp application does not support low latency.
Have you tried rebooting your router/wifi AP or is it the reboot your are mentioning in your post? Have you tried with another IOS device?
I have the same issue with my iPad, my daughter said iPhone SE, my wife android and my ad droid device...
As you said, maybe that's a configuration with the router. I will try to change settings, but normally it should be a good one :(
I've seen some similar issues when 1) phone or wireless B&O device is connected to the "wrong" wireless hub (i.e. for whatever reason sometimes, my Essence will connect to the wireless hub far away vs. the one that is in the same room, the phone is easier to understand as it may connect to different hubs as I move around the house) or 2) the phone is on the 5GHz network while the devices are on the 2.4GHz network (or vice-versa). I don't know why (maybe the app sees these as different networks, I don't know) this should matter, but it seems to work best when both phone and B&O devices are on the same bandwidth network.
I'm thinking about hard wiring the Essence to the wireless hub so it doesn't have a choice about which wireless network to use.
Stan, I had similar experience. But I related it to the latest iOS updates. For example my iPad could not connect with one Access point where my iPhone had no problem at all (5GHz). The Beomusic/Beosetup/Beotool would not work on the iPad. With 2.4GHz both connected in the same network; all apps did work.
In the end I instructed the iPad to forget all Wifi settings. Switched of the iPad completely; restarted and connected again with Wifi. Since then, as before, no problems at all.
note: this happened shortly after the update of the iDevices to iOS 10
Hi,
I saw some odd behaviours when I had the Essence mk1 wired on my network.
To solve this, the Essence had to be plugged the last (with the last IP adress too). Not that easy to change once the Essence had already an IP adresse given by the router...
Ok :)
So that's an easy solution, and actually, IP's ar adressed by DHCP but fixed... And my Essence is 30, and then 31, 32..etc.. So I just need to give it the last IP.
I will try this week end and report the result.
Thank you !

But I would say give it a try, maybe it solves your problem, but it seems to be more a network problem than a B&o issue!
It didn't change anything :(
And things are getting worst : i have to reboot several times all those speakers to see them in the APP and to be able to use them.
I just opened a case with B&O to see how they could help.
The strangest thing is that I can connect on the internal website of each speaker for configuration : the only issue is beomusic not seeing them on the network.

This may be a proof that the Essence's IP adress has an effect...
Did you also powered the Essence the last on ?
If not, it's worth a try.
Any updates or conclusions yet on this issue?
I have similar issues recently with my a6 on a wireless network. I have to reboot it often as I cannot join a multiroom source or cannot be identified in the app (or not able to select sources in the beomusic app).
