Hi,

I hope someone can help me with this and thanks in advance.

I have a BEOMASTER 7000 system tower (CD, vinyl, tape, amp/radio) connected to two BEOLAB 8000 speakers. I have a BEOLINK7000 remote to program it.

this system always worked perfectly fine, but after me moving the system does not work anymore. I get absolutely no sound trough the speakers. When I unplug them while powered you can hear that they are on and working. If I play Vinyl or radio everything seams fine but no sound. If I try to play CD, the CD pannel switches off automatically.

setup:

cd and phono plugged in

beolab 7000 connected to powerlink 1&2

line in out has this plastic connector

also headphones dont work

thanks for your help!!!!

Are you sure you have plugged the sources into the correct sockets - the CD player turning off is suspicious. However the radio is part of the Beomaster so if you get no sound from that, then there is a fault. It is possible that something has been disturbed by moving the system in the Beomaster. The fact the headphone socket is inoperative is also a concern. Where do you live?

1: Does the LED light on the BL8000 switch from red to green ?

2: Are you sure the BL8000 switch is set to L/R on Left and Right speaker, and NOT Line-in ?

3: Does the cd try to read the cd and the switches off, or does it play for a while with blinking numbers, and the turns off ?

It is "normal" for your cd to go bad and cannot read the cd's anymore, try searching for "C2103" capacitor problem on this site. this will fix your cd if it cannot read cd's anymore.

Regarding the missing sound, even in the headphones. It could be as simple as a loose connector on the preamp board, although I have never seen one, does your Beolink 7000 work fine with 2-way control of the system ? is EVERYTHING fine except the missing sound ?

Hi,

Thank you all for your quick Responses.

I am almost sure the System got not damaged on moving, since it was a moving one Floor up the same house. My dad also said that the System was working just fine after the move and it only stopped working after it was reinstalled in a new shelf. So Í am almost sure it must be a Setup error as I know my dad is very careful with this stuff and that the headphone jack is corroded in exactly this Moment would be a very big coincident.

To answer the additional questions:

1) Yes the Speakers work fine on on and off, and mute and turn from red to green and also on unplugging them while on there is a clear Signal from the cable.

2) Yes, I have checked that (if it is the Switch on the back of the BL8000

3) The CD Switches on but as soon as I press Play it Switches off, the main cabinet stays on CD, just the CD cabinet Switches off. I also tried with the Vinyl and tape Player and Radio. They all work but no Sound is to get our off the Player.

Everything seams to work fine except the Sound. I have two remotes and all System reacts to each other perfectly.

One Thing I wanted to add. My dad had removed the AUX IN/OUT plastic connector on the back because he thought it was a broken cable. I red that can be an issue with the Sound. However, I have put this back and it is still connecting two pin together each and one pin is alone (I hope this is correct).

Thanks for all your support, I live in Northern Italy and it is impossible to get this System serviced here, I tried...

So I really appreciate all your help!

I really think the problem is the linie-in/out plug.. However it seems in the pictures that your connections are correct, The original plug does not have the middle pin, but if it is not connected, then it makes no difference. Make sure it is not touching the bottom wire.

Hi,

Yes this is my thought now as well. But I cant find out whats wrong. The connector does perfectly connect 4&5 and 1&3 and 2 is free. The Piece also Looks perfectly good. Is there anything else which could be wrong with it?

I have also tried to plugin the tape Player now and it is broken, it does not turn the tape anymore, we havent tried it since Long time. However, always when the tape I click Play I can hear a click in the Speakers, also on increasing the volume, I can hear it from the spekers.

thanks for your help

Hi again,

I still could not figure out the issue... Chan you help me to verify if the linein out is the issue?

If that is the issue

- would the headphone sound still work (which it doesnt)

- what can I plug into the line in out which should work (what is this plug made for if the little connector piece is not there)

Are there any othernpossibilities what could be wrong? I have tested the speakers and they work as stand alones, so it must be sometjing with the amp.

Also if I plug in my phone via a patched cable (which works fine) to the tape2 in an I put the system on tape2 it should work, right?

Thanks and merry xmas

Alex

This is what the plug on mine looks like - it does the bridging.   Your line in/out appears to have been modified and the problem might be with those connectors.
