hi all,

got an a6 a month ago and cannot manage to maintain a stable wireless connection, be it bluetooth or airplay.

on wifi (airplay) i have already set up a dedicated 5ghz network but signal dropping still occurs frequently.

i now use an ipad mini plugged into the aux in port to listen to music, anyone have any idea what i'm doing wrong?

best

I would try one more thing: play music via BeoMusic app and not directly via AirPlay.

If it still drops frequently - then it is your WiFi/router. If it plays without drops then it could be AirPlay (being notorious btw for causing all kind of trouble).

Last option, of course, is that your A6's wireless is faulty but that isn't so likely.

I never have any issues, but you need to know what you're doing. For example, giving your device a fixed IP rather than a dynamic IP can help maintain a connection. Making sure your wifi has enough bandwidth to handle your music (for example, if it's uncompressed, this can be an issue with Airplay), plus making sure you're not streaming it from the internet *and* to the A6 at the same time. Best make sure the files are offline where possible.

My A6 is quite some distance from my router, across solid walls and it never drops the connection. My A9 used to, in the same room only 2 metres from the router, before I gave it a fixed IP.

The OP says he has problems with Bluetooth too...if so makes me think maybe it's the A6.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

I had the same issue with my A6 and wifi. Once I switched it from 5ghz to 2.4ghz no more problems.

That's quite valuable piece of information. :) Thanks moxxey!
