Hi everyone I am a new member I treated myself this Xmas to something I have aways wanted a b &o stereo system off eBay drove a 400 mile round journey checked everything except the tape deck to return back home to find the beocord 3300 is not working it power's up but just clicks when you press play so I have taken the top off the find the belts are shot but I still can't hear the motor running so how do I check the motor out to see if that is shot too any help would be gratefully received thanks ps I am over the moon with the rest
Check if the motor is running when out of standby. If it's running - replace belts and test the deck again. If it's not running, check that it will rotate easily by hand. Then check the voltage on the motor tabs. (apprx 13-14 V is to be expected).Voltage fine and motor rotatable by hand - replace motor. No voltage - repair power supply.
If the old belts messed up and locked the motor, the power supply will needa small repair. Depending on the failure mode, the power supply will either not output any power at all oroutput will be weak so the mechanics will feel sluggish and slow.
I can supply correct new belts and idler wheel rubber parts.
While in there replace the two electrolytic capacitors (220uF) on the Dolby board. They are known to go bad.I can supply those too and any parts needed for the power supply repair.

Hi thanks for your help the motor was all glued up (why would they go like that) released it but still a bit of resistance at certain points , took readings at moter tabs on standby .17 and on stop 13.59 with tape in.so is the motor dead ? If so how much would it be for a motor and belts speak to you soon and thanks for all of your help and much appreciated and all the best in the new year thanks again roland
If you can measure 13-14 Volts across the motor and it's not running, then it's dead.I can supply a new motor (original replacement part).Email me.
Hi Martin could you just confirm you have received my email to you , we live in the country side and the Internet isn't great thanks
Yes, I got them all.
