Beosound 9000 MKII and Penta MKIII

I purchased a pair of Penta MKIII, and a beosound 9000 MKII..I also ordered apair ok power link MKII...I managed to down load the manuals for both, but somewhat confused as there is no actual diagram...

 

Do i need any other cables ?

 

In what mode setting should I choose in connecting, receiver ???

Not sure on the option setting as you don't mention if you will connect the 9000 via ML to a Tv.

As for the power link cables if they are active Penta3 speakers with a display you will need a fully wired cable to provide the display signal to the speakers.

Sean is correct, if you don't have a B&O TV connected, then you just need two of these Powerlink mk.2 cables to connect a pair of mk.2 or mk.3 Beolab Penta speakers (with 8 pin sockets fitted underneath) to the two Powerlink sockets on the Beosound 9000:-

I dont have a  B an O TV,The speakers arrived to day, and included the cables, I also bought a pair..now waiting on the beolab centre 9000

 

I have a teac MR 15o cd player, but dont think i could connect that....

Pentas will attach to almost anything! If it has a volume control, it will connect! Have you got the user manual?

Peter is quite right!  Most Teac models don't have dedicated pre-out sockets, however, you could still connect a pair of Pentas to most Teac amps via one of the methods below:-

1) Connect two speakers to the headphone socket of the receiver with this cable: http://soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/77--trs-2rca-.html

2) Connect two speakers to the red and black speaker terminals on the back of the receiver using this special Attenuated Converter: http://soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/33--attenuator-.html and then use this cable to connect the speakers to the output sockets of the Converter: http://soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/6-av-processor-pre-amp-sonos-to-beolab-rca-line-in.html

Option 1 is cheaper, but the cable will be visible at the front of the receiver and this will disable any other speakers connected to the receiver.  Option 2 allows the cables to be hidden and the Beolab speakers can be used along with other speakers if required.

The Penta MkII manual states that when using Powerlink cables (and this should be the case in conbination with the BS9000) the input level switch should be set to the three bar position. The setting for the "bass extension level" depends on placement (corner, distance to wall) and the size of the room, so it's difficult to help you without additional informations.

Thanks, I also found, online, manuals for both with diagrams. I must also get an antenna for the 9000...for radio

The Penta's are set to the most sensitive setup. Left switch is set to tthe left side (3 stripes).

The BS9000 senses the presence of speakers connected on the powerlinksockets. It sets itself to default option 1.

No analog radio available?. Just a thread in the open air will do (approximately 1 meter).
