We have a Beovision 7 and the screen just went black half way through a programme, we can still get sound under the DTV setting or when playing a DVD, but no picture - can anyone help or give me a suggestion as to what could cause this, I could not see anything in the instruction menu, thanks!

Sorry to hear that.  Happens to mine occasionally so don't worry too much just yet.

First, try unplugging it from the mains and leave it a few minutes.  Check all connections between devices like TV to STB or any other device.  Plug it back in again and let it re-boot.

Does it work now?

Welcome to Beoworld by the way.

Dave.

Hi Ame,

I hope so to.  It's possible.  Sometimes this works unless the problem is more deep rooted.  Sometimes I switch on my BV7_55 and just get a black scree.  I normally just have to switch it off and on again and it's fine.

Good luck.

Dave.

I had this problem too. It required a module change. Fortunately covered by warranty but judging by the size of it would be very expensive if you had to pay for it yourself! Good luck.

Alas we tried as you suggested Dave, but it did not work so it is booked to be collected and sent to the B&O repair centre next week.  Thank you again for your help!

It is being taken to the repair centre next week so will see if it is the module, hopefully it won't be too expensive!

Hi Ameelia

I have the same problem as you had.  What was the outcome and how much did it cost?

I've just got this problem - or similar.

I don't have picture on TV/DTV or the built-in blue ray dvd player, sound only but no picture.

My Ouverture still works for Radio/CD and cassette but I notice that when I use the red standby on Beo4 /Beolink 1000 and 5000 they all turn the Ouverture to standby but the Beovision 7 remains on with the CD/Radio illuminated on the top right of the set.

Additionally, the Beolab 6000 and subwoofer remain on with the green power light - where I would expect red for standby.

Any thoughts?

Update:-

I turned 6000's off at the sockets, then the subwoofer and tv at the mains - turning the sockets on then gave me the red standby lights on speakers and tv. Selected TV for BT You view which then woke it up and all seems ok, the dvd played as before but this time with a picture - so normal service restored.

Hi Amelia,

I just saw the conversation on the forum even it's very old but I have the same problem with my 7-40.

Can I please ask if you managed to sort it out and how much did you paid?

thank you
