I have a Beoenter 9000. I have had it from new and have had many good years with it. It is currently connected to a Playmaker. It took a long time to get the Playmaker to work properly but it does now. I can play music through my iPhone or iPad and it works with CX 100 speakers and a Cona subwoofer beautifully. I would like to substitute a Beosound Essence Mark I for the Playmaker as I think it is a more reliable and better product. Is the essence compatible in the same way the Playmaker was? I am using a Beolink 1000 remote with the Beocenter and it works just fine through the Playmaker. I would appreciate anyone's input on this. Thanks.
In an earlier post you wrote:
'I have had the same question, and I own both the playmaker and the essence. The essence seems to be made a little bit better and the signal seems to be a little bit more reliable. I do not use the remote control of the essence; I find that the choices at the source are much broader and easier to navigate. I have had some problems with the playmaker in the past; the essence seems to send a stronger signal.'
So it seems that you already had some experience with that combination.
The simple answer is: you basicly use it just like you use(d) the Playmaker - and you gain some new features.
To be futureproof and to benefit from the updates, I strongly advice you to use the 2nd generation Essence - even if you (at time being) won't use the NL/Multiroom features of it.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Thanks for this. Can I use the Beolink 1000 remote with the Essence as well?
