Celebrating Christmas with my new setup Big Smile

Can somebody help me identify if I have latest software or if it needs to be updated?

How do I check if the screen is 50hz or 60hz?

It has been updates with Apple puc atleast.

That's very old software (probably the SW it left the factory with) and will be 50hz.

You can tell this immediately by the central, light grey menu with the dark grey writing.  Later versions are located to the left of the screen, in black with white writing.

Yes, but it won't be a simple task. As it's below the minimum level for 'automatic update' (you are on SW3.5 which is the earliest version I've ever seen!) you'll have to update each module of the software to the minimum level first. Once you've done that, it will let you go to the latest level in one 'hit'.

However, it'll be a big jump, so I'd do it in stages once you've reached the minimum level for automatic update (I think this is 5.? or 7.?). Get it to this level, then go to 10.?, then on to the latest and last which I think is 11.?

The engineer doing the update will know all of this anyway.

PS : If it's had the PUC update for Apple TV I'm surprised the engineer didn't update the software anyway.  Maybe he/she couldn't be bothered.

PS : The Mk3 7-40's are an absolute bargain at the moment.  A great TV for no money at all really...

Wow, that's a few hours or at least half a day of work ahead of someone! I think as Lee said this is pre release software. The last build is 967. You have to constantly update the H8 then AVS FEP sw individually then do an auto update.

Good afternoon,

Is there a change log available to see the improvements and bug fixes brought by the successive versions? I have the version 624 in my own TV and I would like to see if it worth calling a technician to have it upgraded to version 967. I could do it myself but access to the service software and special cable is still restricted I think.

Thanks in advance,

Jean

I am reactivating this thread as it was probably forgotten during the Christmas vacations.
