Hello All,

Critter here again with a quick question.  If I want to get the music files from my Mac to a Beoplay speaker (any wireless Beoplay speaker) what do I really need?

I have Twonky running on my Mac and obviously the files are there.  Once I have a wireless Beoplay speaker on hand will one of the Bang and Olufsen apps see the files on my Mac and allow me to send them to the speaker for playback....controlled from an iPhone/iPad/Android device?  I'm not sure if I want to buy any added streaming device yet (Essence, Moment or competitor).  Can I add the Beoplay Speaker, enjoy my the iTunes files on my computer without yet having to decide on any added devices?

I did download the new Bang and Olufsen App (the Beta one) and have a look at it but I don't see much there other than options for using spotify, etc, etc.  Or is this app not the app for accessing files stored on a local server?

Thanks so much!

Hi,

If you have Twonky on your Mac eg Beosound 1 it will appear as a DLNA server in the BeoMusic app.

You have also the option to pair over Bluetooth from your mac and play directly from eg iTunes. But then you control everything from the mac.

What I wrote is applicable for the Beoplay products that are net link capable like A6, A9 MKii, M5

Get the released version of the Beomusic app for that, not the beta one.

The new mobile app your'e referring to is NOT yet finished. Its still in Beta form. Providing DLNA content from a server (as with Twonky) is not functional on this app, although its mentioned in the app.

Probably somewhere in March-April the new app will come out of Beta form.

In waiting for this final release, you have to use the Beomusic app, this application gives you the opportunity to listen to your DLNA content on B&O goods.
