I have trouble connecting my set-top box from Canal Digital (Norway) to my newly acquired Beovision 7-40 mk2. I have connected the set-top box via SCART for the sound, and for the picture I have connected a DVI cable from my Beovision to a DVI --> HDMI and into the set-top box. I believe I have made the right settings on the Beovision too, in the AV2 I have set it up as a STB (DTV) with HDTV set to DVI-I.
When I try to turn it on I can hear sound, and I get a small reaction on the screen, with a little bar on the left hand side turning grey, but nothing more than that. Have anybody encountered this problem before? I have tried two DVI cables, and tomorrow I will try another DVI --> HDMI adaptor, but if someone have a solution that fixes this now I will be very happy!

Thank you for the answer! I tried it, and I can see the grey part move as I change the resolution, but still no luck...
Looks like copy protection issue (HDCP).Did you try to connect another HD source to DVI input like a computer?
If that works it' s the CD box. And try to disconnect the DVI plug and set the AV port to no HDTV.
Now you should get picture - unfortunately only SD.
Hope this helps
Stefan
You are most likely feeding a 50hz signal into the DVI, which unfortunately ONLY supports 60Hz.
However if you do use the SCART input you will be hard pressed to tell the difference in quality, if you set the SCART output to RGB!
Despite numerous efforts I have never made this work on a MKII !
I does however work on a MKIII using the HDMI.
Personally I prefer the color tone of the MKII over the MKIII, so I am happily living with the RGB Scart input on the mkII.
Besides,- that leaves the DVI input wide open for a NUC style computer. Not only will it rejuvenate your 7-40II i will also ad BR, Streaming, HDR etc
With a bit of attention and some TLC,- It still a very capable TV!
Not to mention beautiful!
Usually I advice people to use a scart connection for the (tv) set-top box and the HDMI -> DVI plus sound for an AppleTV box (which they mostly want anyway).
If you add the right PUC codes, you can have a pretty neat (and cheap) solution even with the MK2.
Note - if the tv itself gets the latest updates, you can even choose the TV and the DTV buttons for the main sources.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Hei Eivron,
Fikk du løst problemet ditt? Jeg sliter med å få bilde fra Canal Digital, kommer kun lyd. Har du noe tips?
