Hi,

I've just replaced my BC9500 Glass panel adhesive tape which I'm guessing has had 20 years to fail.

Glass all cleaned and I've used a good quality silicon-type tape which is very thin, and what appears to be good adhesive properties.

Problem I'm having is getting the glass (with the attached 4-piece surround back) into position. I just cant get it to engage that final 5-7mm before I can screw it down in the corner.

As far as I can tell, everything appears to line-up correctly separately. I can slide the top edge in completely, do the same with the bottom edge. However, without what I think is substantial force or pressure on the glass...I cant do both.

So to the experts; is there a technique or methodology that I'm missing out on?

Thx

Are you sure that you put the two centre plastic bits on the correct edge of the glass (upper and lower)?

The ensemble should simply place onto the Beocenter about 5mm to the right of its eventual position, and then slide quite easily to the left, whereupon you can fasten the screw.

My guess is, that you got the plastic frame pieces mixed up.
If you got the top right end swapped for the bottom right end, you will experience what you describe.
(And the bottom right end will not lock the glass panel down just right).
Don't ask how I know...

And note the slope on the edge of the lower center piece for the upper panel
and on the upper center piece for the lower panel.

All sorted with a bit of persistence.

Parts were correctly placed on the dry run, however, I'm guessing I was a fraction out as there is some float in abutment of the plastic sections. Removing from the adhesive, repositioning and the top section solved the problem.

thanks for the prompt support below.
