Hi,
after two radio-shops failed to repair my cdx last year I will meet the challenge and took it from the storage shelf. Although having no electronic skills.
I checked the griplets as recommended in some posts and found them already done. With little pieces of wire as described here. And I checked the connections to the next points in the circuit, there is contact.
But nevertheless no sound. What else can I control? I read something about a mute relay. I couldn't find it.
In the diagram of the decoder board is the IC 6514 with a mute control. Is this perhaps the reason for the problem? How can I check this? Or is it better to find another board and just change it. If anybody has such a spare part.
Hope that anyone has a helpful hint.

Thank you chartz for your quick answer. I will see at weekend if I am able to convert your advice into practice.
Now I shortened the contacts, but unfortunately no success. Any other idea?

Have you checked the PSU voltages?
I had not, but now I have! You see, I'm a bloody amateur and can only go further on guided step by step.
Sorry!
With the help of my service manual I checked the voltages and found them nearly ok. 11.8 instead of 12, 17.9.. instead of 18 etc. Is that in the normal tolerance?
