Hi fellow B&O fans,
I've recently bought a Beogram 1700 turntable as a birthday present for my dad, who's always admired & wanted something B&O . I checked it before i bought it and it was working perfectly.
Now however, after transport, the left channel is at 10% of the volume of the right channel (which sounds perfectly). It also seems to hum constantly on the left channel.
If i switch the RCA cable around, the problem is the same, just on the right speaker instead.
Maybe it was the transport, me not hooking everything up correctly, or ?
Do you have any ideas how i could troubleshoot & fix this ?

It sounds a lot like a grounding problem - the ground wires from the channels are joined in the shield in the DIN plug. Take the plug apart and check if there is a broken/loose solder joint or a broken wire.
What amplifier are you using - is it the same as when you tested it when you bought it? It would be more likely that there is something wrong with it.
Vinyl records, cassettes, open reel, valve amplifiers and film photography.

I'm using a Sony amplifier that i've been using for years, on the MD/Tape input. It works flawlessly with any other device, so the amplifier should be ok.
The phono preamp i just bought yesterday & the problems occur without it too, so that's off the list as well.
Re: the DIN plug, I'll take a look, see if i can take it apart and spot loose connections.
