I have 5 6000 Mk1's and 1 Becom 2 Mk 1 as a home phone network. 5 of the 6 phone work OK including the Beocom 2, but 1 6000 rings OK but when you answer there is nothing. It happens to be the Base station as well. I have deleted the phone from the base, reset the handset, re-registered the hand set but still I have the same problem.
The base station is not connected to the phone line where it comes in to the house but to an extension in the kitchen. It all worked well when I had 4 phones in the network, but when I added 2 more the problems began.
My dealer can't suggest any solution and I am at the point of thinking about buying some MK2 handsets as I already have a Beoline 2 PSTN that I bought quite a while ago when I thought I might need more than 6 phones in the network.
Any help or suggestions will be gratefully received.
Hi and welcome to Beoworld!
The problem that you are describing sounds like just the sort of issue that you get when the battery starts to fail. Have you tried swapping the battery for a new one?
Hi Guy, thanks for the welcome. I should have joined years ago as I have had B&O hi-fi and TV's for 40 years now. I did renew the batteries in another hand set as that was a suggestion from my local dealer about a year ago. Seeing that replacement batteries are a lot cheaper than secondhand Beocom 6000 handsets, I will try that. I only need 4 as I changed 1 of them last year, so let's see if that does the trick.
Many thanks. I will post the outcome.
Regards
John
No need to buy them from B&O as they charge about £30 each! I have bought from here with no problems: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002MPYM3W/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3IR721MNWWYM8&coliid=I28NZ3EADCEOEK
