I’m new so forgive my ignorance, I have just managed to buy a mint beocenter 9500 and a seperate beo4 remote, how do I get it to work, the only thing it does at the moment is turn the unit off, I know it is probably something simple - but so am I
Beo4 - all versions should work on the BC9500.
I am not 100% certain if the BC9500 has an option 1/2 setting which enables/disables the remote control to Audio or Video master
The Beo4 may have pre-configured setting. IIRC, press standby and List together to access the config menu on the Beo4.
You can scroll through using the diamond button until you reach Opt 1. Press it and the BC9500 will activate its own IR sensor.
The Beo4 manual - available here on this site, on B&O's webpage etc...will give more details. All the ML (or just pre ML) products - back to the BC9000 all share the same Beo4 language.

Yes, you can set BC9500 to A.OPT 0, 1 or 2. Try to set your BC to A.OPT 1, as advised by Mr10%. Maybe the BC is set to A.OPT 0, which means, that the ir receiver is disabled.

Stones:Off-topic, but anyway: I remember the first BeoWorld trip to Struer already ten years ago. We were offered a dinner by BO in a restaurant on the island Venoe. The business manager brought a prototype of Beo5 to show us. We had to promise not to take photos! Together with it's silver box it was sent around the table so we all could feel it. Very nice! Suddenly, during the small talk, the business manager reacted "Where is it?" as the Beo5 had left the table. Of course the restaurant had a BC8500/9x00 for its music supply, and some of the BeoWorlders had approached the BeoCenter testing the new remote.

I remember that trip too and also that restaurant on Venø. And I must confess it was me who took the Beo 5 to check it out with the local BC 8500 (I think it was a 8500, it was in dark grey finish, in danish "koksgrå".) Was a lot of fun, and the staff were very friendly although we played around with changing sources, volume level, skipping tracks for the whole restaurant...">
