Hi all,
I hope some one can help.
I have had my BV7-32 Mk3 upgraded to the latest software and the chip replaced so it can do digital sound.
when I play a DVD from the attached Oppo 103 I get sound, but when I try a bluray or stream movies from my NAS I don't get any sound.
the sound goes through a atlona converter which reduces it down to HDMI and optical this then gets converters to coaxial and into the tv.
Any one got any ideas, what can I check, waiting to watch the new Star Wars film!
Thanks
Toby
Set the OPPO to PCM on the audio output.
Thanks for you quick reply Beosound, the Oppo was set to output auto so I corrected that to LPCM over the HDMI.
But I still do not get sound, originally I thought it might then be the optical to digital converter, so tried a new on but still no sound over digital. I have check the cable that is working fine. If I use a converter from optical to stereo that works into the AV4 audio sockets. it is just the digital that is not working.
The option setting has the correct A socket for digital selected. The sound system shows Dolby Pro logic. The monitor information shows:
AP SW 7.94
IOP SW 22.0
Ac3 SW 03.01a
AVC On.
is this all correct to be able to out put from a digital source?

I don`t know much about the BV7-32, but I know from the BC6-26, that you have to use a certain AV socket to use the digital input. Maybe it is similiar with your BV7?
And maybe you try to use the HD Master audio tracks - DD5.1 Hd, DTS HS master....?This won`t work via spdif, only through HDMI.
And btw, Dolby Pro Logic is an ols analog 4 channel Dolby surround, created from a 2 channel stereo track. So, this is not, what you want.
I`d try to set the Oppo to AC3 out and use an spdif output (if present) and check the assignment on the BV. Select a DD5.1 or DTS track on the BR.

It's a LONG time ago now (the BV7-32 is very old - this is 2004, so my memory is vague), but I'm sure that I had to use HDMI to coaxial to get audio from my DVD player to my BV7-32.
