Android TV remote app on iOS with Horizon TV

Hello collective brain trust

Can anybody help with this conundrum?

Downloaded the Android TV remote app to iPhone. Paired with BeoVision Horizon and have full control of TV via navigating cursor up, down, left & right plus Home button.

I'm trying to use voice operation on YouTube within TV. When I navigate to the "mic" symbol it shuts the app on phone down. If I select the blue mic symbol in the phone app that also closes down the phone app.

I don't have access to an Android phone to see if the app works on that operating system.

Any help greatly appreciated.
