I currently own a pair of Beolab Penta I but recently aquired another paid of Pentas via ebay that were advertised as Penta II. After picking up the Pentas and beginning the refurbishment process(cleaning the exterior of 30 years of cigarette smoke damage, thanks bar keepers friend, and checking the electrics/rings) i noticed that the copyright date was 1988 but the type id 6633. According to this site type 6633 penta III were not out until 1991. I have not yet plugged in the Pentas as I would prefer to make sure everything is in working order before that stage. Yes the displays look to be the green displays of the Penta III but anyone can do a display swap as I have a set myself. So is this site wrong or is there some trickery at work?
Penta I matches with site:
Advertised as Penta II but the type says Penta III:
I am not complaining, but I think if these are indeed Penta III's then the person definitely under priced them, $400 for the pair. not just the amps, the full towers.
"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
Lovely speakers - just pleasant to listen to and unlike some, not fatiguing at all. Nice purchase.

Copyrighted one year, produced some years later. No problem.
