Hello beoworlders!
I've just taken delivery of a new to me BS3. After a bit of fiddling I've been able to hook up video input from an analog source (Nintendo 64 - For Mario Kart) and a Playstation 4.
However unless the PS4 is turned on *before* the BS3 comes out of standby I get white full screen flashes Intermittently. Similar to the description in this[1] post. It looks as though it cycles over time, but don't hold me to that.
The BS3 is type 9606 but I'm not sure of which software version it is running. What I'd like to know is:
How do I find the software version of the BS3, and are there any service menus to look through to solve this problem beyond Menu-> 0 0 GO?
The next question is, what is the best way to attach a turntable to the BS3? I have both a BeoCord 3500 and a regular RCA output turntable. Can RCA cables be attached to one of the AV sections and just use the audio?

Hi Ralf,
I did try different HDMI powers and three different cables in total. Not in all twelve combinations of course.
Some more questions for everyone
From the previous thread I posted some people mentioned that early revisions of the BS3 software didn't like to work with more modern HDMI implementations. Hence my query about how to find the SW version on my BS3.
This does lead to another question about device support. When you add a new source on the BS3 there are a number of options for source type. On my BS3 I've selected Playstation 3 or "Other PC".
Are these options some sort of device profile? Do they have an effect onhow a source is interpreted, and if so, how do I update these? I've seen reference to PUC codes, but these seem to be IR remote control codes. What's the correct name for these device profiles?
Finally, is it possible to hook up a turntable to one of the AV channels on a BS3?
Cheers
Steven
