I don't want my Beovision LS 5500 anymore and it feels bad to throw it away. Is it worth anything?

Hi.

I am interested in a value estimation of my Beovision LS 5500 television. Also, I wonder if there is anyone out there who is interested in acquiring it, even though it is not in a perfect condition? I live in Göteborg, Sweden.

Recently, the TV stopped working. Hopefully it is only a fuse, but it could of course be something more serious. I am not interested in ripping anyone off. I just want the TV to continue living if there is anyone that is interested. If the reason for it to stop working is something trivial and I can fix it, I suppose it is worth something. If not, I will definitely just let anyone that wants to take it have it for free.

Some more details:
- the covers for the loudspeakers are a bit "worn out". They are not so tightly stuck to the TV as they once were.
- I still have the TV stand with wheels. However, it recently got broken in an accident (the TV was not involved), but I think it can be fixed.
- Apart from the above the TV has been working perfectly during all the years. But then again, it is a BO TV. :-)

Kind regards.
/Mikael

A nice TV, no doubt, but hopelessly outdated.
Sorry to say it, but a faulty CRT TV is absolutely worthless unless from the 1950s and even then it would represent very little value.
I'm afraid that, even if working, you would have a hard time finding someone willing to carry it away.

I've seen LX speakers used for PC with good results, they are fabulous sounding, particularly the
ones from the 2800/2802 series.

As Martin stated: A faulty CRT TV is worthless. Nobody wants to spend time to pick it up -and then spend time and money to get it working.
Even if somebody wants that specific model, they can get a fully functional one for almost nothing.

Here in Denmark people have started giving newer models away for free. The other day i picked up a MS 6000 for free Big Smile The only reason I did it was because it was with a Beo4.
I then sold the Beo 4 for 450,- DKKr - and later sold the TV with an old BL 1000 for 200,-DKKr Laughing (the buyer only bought it because she wanted the remote...) Yes - thumbs up
It's so funny to see that some people are trying to sell a similar TV for up to 3000,-DKKr...Laughing rediculous!!!

If it was a white working LX6000 you could ask for much more...

Just about to chuck my LX6000 but a friend has decided he would like it, even though I had started dismantling it!! Dodgy picture, probably components rather than tube.
