Hi, I bought two turntabkes at a garage sale, with the understanding that they did not work. I actually just liked the way the platter looked on one of them and wanted to use it as art, but after looking into them online, I wondered if they were worth selling or parting out. Neither turn on when I plug them in, but both have the cartridge (or stylus?) with them and appear to be completely intact, from what I can tell, and neither dust cover is cracked, but both do have scratches.

I listen to records as an enthusiastic novice, and am currently using an old pioneer turntable which I also picked up at a garage sale.

My goal is to see if I can sell or part these out in any way, and use that money to upgrade my current turntable to something better. I realize that B&O is well out of my price range, so If I can do anything with these to help me upgrade to something more midrange quality here in Ohio, that is what I would like to do. I dont know if this is a rediculous goal or not, but figured someone on this sight may have the time to respond and possibly lend some advice.

The first one is a Beogram TX with an MMC cartridge.

The second one is a Beogram 3000 with an MMC 20 E cartridge.

Both feel like they have a needle still on them, but I have no way of knowing how good of quality they are.

I tried to upload pics, but cannot figure out how to get the resolution low enough to meet the size restriction.

Does anybody have some insight or suggestions for me? Thank you very much in advance!

"The second one is a Beogram 3000 with an MMC 20 E cartridge" I think you either have a rare conversion from SP to MMC or you have written down the something wrong here?

beogram TX with MMC? which one 1 2 3 4 5

I cant make an accurate estimate on your description but they would probably go for around £40-£80 each as spares or repairs the cartridge if not worn are worth more than that MMC20e £90 other MMC £120 if a 4 or 5

Yes, the cartridges on these are relatively valuable but only really if you can assess the condition, you can have them checked here http://www.audio-origin.co.uk/retipping-stylus.html

if you have access to a nice microscope you can check them yourself, but then you need to test the suspension as well, parting out for parts I have seen a few people do this it does not usually work well for B&O in my opinion I think it’s because so many people do it as they are difficult to repair so there is a glut of parts on eBay lowering their value

The Beogram 3000 definitely has the MMC 20 E on it.

The TX has a MMC 3.

Thanks for the information beo3000!

No microscope here, so I guess my best bet may be to just put each one on ebay as is for parts or repair, start them at $50 each, and see if anybody bites.
