Hi, I really love B&Os new Playmaker - I have hoped we would see a solution that would combine B&Os fantastic speakers with the iDevices from Apple. Good work B&O!
Now to my question - I have a BV 4-65 connected with BeoLab 9s and a BeoLab2 and would love to be able to attach the Playmaker to this setup, but is there a way to attach the Playmaker so I can be able to play music WITHOUT to have to start the BV 4-65??

The PlayMaker User Guide states:
LINE IN Phono sockets for connection of external audio sources, for example, an MP3 player or a computer. SPEAKERS Speaker sockets for connection of Bang & Olufsen speakers. To connect Playmaker to an existing Bang & Olufsen setup, it may be necessary to replace cables. For more information, contact your Bang & Olufsen retailer.

So it may be possible that Steve at Sounds Heavenly can advise if the BV4's powerlink output can go to the line in.
This assumes you only have a stereo BV9 setup so that the following arrangement might work.
BV4 ---special cable--- PlayMaker ---powerlink cable---BL2---powerlink-Y-cable---BL9s
or even daisy chain the BV9s (if they support that function)
But it will all depend on whether a powerlink-out can be be made to look like a line-in ...........

Hi,
Powerlink signals are daisy-chained, so you should be able to connect your Playmaker via Powerlink to your front or rear BeoLabs connected to BeoVision , and only the BeoLabs will turn on, not the TV.
I used to do this on my BV3-32 (BeoPort connected to front speakers via Powerlink going in 1 of the Powerlink front outputs, while the other front output goes to the 1st speaker).
This allows you to keep different sound settings for both audio & video, and not having to turn on the TV for audio.
Hi, thanks both of you! Christophe, I find your answer really interesting but dont exactly understand? Do you mean that I should connect my BeoLab 9s to each other, Powerlink to Powerlink? Right now I think I have connected the BV 4 to both speakers...
And then connect one Powerlink from BV 4 to speaker 1, and Playmaker to speaker 2?

I've followed those instructions recently to connect my encore to my BV8-40, and unfortunately it's not working. So maybe it doesn't work with newer TVs...

Yes you can. You must use splitter. However, you can not turn both system on at the same time. ( I mean of course you can but there is acustic disturbance ) In my kitchen BV 7-40, BS9000 and BS5 Encore connected to one set of speaker (BL4000 + BL 11) Everything works perfect as long as just one system is on.

What is happening, when you turn on both systems at the same time?
Both systems (e.g. BS9000 and BV7-40) are sending a turn on signal two your Beolab loudspeaker, does this harm the loudspeakers (because of doubled electric current)?Besides the overlap of two different sounds, which are probalby only annoying, but not harmfull to the loudspeakers (?).
PS: How much eletric current is used by beosound systems for the loudspeaker turn-on signal?

This splitter goes to one of the Beolabs and you can connect 2 different sources (Beosound, Beovision etc.) to your speakers. If you want to add 1 more system you need 1 more cable.
I'm trying not to turn on both systems together. Sometimes sh*t happens but I can not answer if this damages the Beolabs. All I can say is that when I turn both system by mistake Beosound 9000 goes crazy and I could not turn off.
