Can anyone tell me if one can still buy the plastic front and back coloured  panels for the beolit radios and specifically the 505?

No they are no longer available although they occasionally come up on eBay.

All panels for the Beolit colour radio range are interchangeable.  I believe the later 505 and 707 have slightly different covers with the material made from 'Nextel' which gives it a slightly different feel.

Sometimes you can pick up a Beolit for spares pretty cheaply. Might be your best bet.
