Hello all.
I have a pair of Beovox 3000 (6220) speakers. One of them had a lower output than the other so I decided to change the capacitors.
The original capacitors were 1x50uf and 1x12uf Wicon.
I replaced the caps in one speaker with Dayton audio caps (I purchased some for a pair of S-45-2 as well) with the same values and did an A-B test.
The speaker with replacements sounds ‘narrow’ with bass and treble close together, and generally lacking in clarity (particularly of treble). It sounds dreadful, and I don’t think it is a case of subjectivity.
This makes me wonder, did I somehow botch the installation? (Should these caps sound “competent”?)
And what alternative would others recommend for these speakers?
