Hi All

I have 2 restored Belab Penta MK1 amplifiers just standing in the closet, bought them for fun to see if I could get them back to life.

Now they are fine again, and I have talked to a guy who owns a Beomaster 8000 with a set of Beovox Penta's.

He has asked if he would benefit using my 6601 amps instead of the 2*150W of the BM8000.

What do you guys think ? I have never heard the BM8000, but I have read a few threads, and some people think it is one of the best amps built by B&O ?

1. What would you do ?

2. Can the BM8000 be connected to the MK1 amp ? It only hase lineIn / Speakerlink and Amp Level In.

If I set the Sensitivity switch to MIN, which means amplifiers over 25W, will that work ?

I am in doubt whether he will benefit at all, or even if the MK1 amp can handle an 150W amplified signal from the BM8000 ?

Any good points or ideas ?

/Jacob

But is it actually possible to connect a BM8000 to the Amp Input terminals on the MK1 amplifier ? Can the Amp handle the 150w input from the BM8000 ?

I'd just use the rca pre-out on the side of the BM8000 to the line-in on the penta.

Didn't think there was pre-out on the BM8000 ? can you send me a link with images or something that shows where that is ?

But that would of course be the optimal solution.

Hmm, but is that a proper Line-out ?

If the clamps are removed, and L/R phono is used, is it then possible to adjust Bass/Treble and so on ?

Are thought they only were for Equalizers and other sound control units, not for speakers ?
