Dear members,

I haven't read much about the Beovox M75 on here. Are they a good speaker? How do they compare to their larger brother, the Beovox M100?

Greetings,

Kai

I've just received a pair of these in oak. I'll report as soon as they are ready. Does anybody have original stands for the M75 for sale? Mine came without the stands, unfortunately. Any opinions still appreciated. Thanks! Kai

I have heard they sound a lot like s75, I like my s75 they sound great I am sure you will be happy with them although I think the m75 series need to have some drivers refoamed

Thanks very much. I thought they were very different from the S75? Confused Refoaming will be necessary. How do I clean the wood veneer by the way?

Hi Kai,

I recently cleaned up an oak Beomaster 2000 and after cleaning was very happy with he soap finish I used on the veneer. Heres the thread with a picture.

I initially used IPA and magic erasers (going with the grain) to clean off the accumulated years of grime that had built up then left to dry. Next I used the soap finish and I found that every application removed more and more of the leeched in cigarette smoke yellowing.

I have only heard M75s in a showroom, so many years ago but did hear them in comparison to M100s, which I still have. They have a much better controlled bass compared to S75s (which I have also had) and a better top end. Very similar to the M100 really but a more manageable size (though not that more manageable!!) I have only seen rosewood ones so oak must be rather special. The phase link unit on my M100s needed a new surround and the capacitors all needed replacing but the drive units were otherwise fine. One bass unit later had the magnet slip and needed repair.

Dear Peter,

thanks a lot.

How would you compare M75s to M100s?

I can only compare 45 2's and 120.2's. Very different speakers but both good in their own right. Wouldn't be able to make a pick between the two.

Greetings,

Kai

Too long ago to make any useful comparison but I do remember thinking they were very similar. The M70 was more like the S75 though that was still more controlled in the bass. I loved my S75s when I had them but they had very loose bass if truth be known - the S45.2 was a much better speaker for accuracy.
